Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Joska: Jurnal ISORI Kampar is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and transparency. The journal adopts strict ethical policies to prevent and address publication malpractice at all stages of the editorial and publishing workflow.
The ethical framework of the journal is based on and aligned with:
- Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines
- COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors
- COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers
- International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) Recommendations
- Declaration of Helsinki (for research involving human participants)
- These principles apply to editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher.
Editors carry out their responsibilities with full editorial independence, making decisions based solely on academic merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, and adherence to established ethical standards. All editorial decisions are made free from commercial, institutional, political, or personal influence, ensuring the credibility and integrity of the publication process.
The Editor-in-Chief, with the support of the editorial board, holds full authority to accept, reject, or request revisions to submitted manuscripts. These decisions are guided by considerations of originality and scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance and contribution to the field, as well as recommendations provided by peer reviewers. Editors are also responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record and for addressing ethical issues such as plagiarism, data manipulation, copyright infringement, and defamation.
In managing the peer review process, editors conduct an initial assessment of manuscripts to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope, originality, and ethical compliance. They assign submissions to qualified reviewers and oversee a fair, objective, and timely double-blind peer review process. Editors are further responsible for clearly communicating editorial decisions and revision requirements to authors.
Editors uphold the principle of fair play by evaluating manuscripts solely on their intellectual content. No discrimination is permitted on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs. Throughout the editorial process, editors must maintain strict confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related data, ensuring that information obtained is not disclosed to unauthorized parties.
Finally, editors are required to manage conflicts of interest responsibly. They must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have actual or potential conflicts of interest and must not use unpublished materials disclosed through the editorial process for personal research purposes without the authors’ explicit written consent.

Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the scholarly publishing process. All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents and must be treated as such. Reviewers are strictly prohibited from sharing, distributing, or discussing submitted manuscripts or their contents with others without prior permission from the editorial office.
In conducting their assessments, reviewers are expected to provide objective, fair, and respectful evaluations supported by clear academic reasoning. Reviews should be written in a constructive manner, offering meaningful suggestions and critiques that assist authors in improving the scientific quality, clarity, and rigor of their manuscripts.
Reviewers also have a responsibility to help ensure the integrity of the scholarly record by identifying relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any suspected cases of plagiarism, redundant publication, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns must be promptly reported to the editor for further investigation.
To preserve impartiality, reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when such conflicts arise from personal, professional, or institutional relationships with the authors or the research. Additionally, reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed timeframe. If circumstances prevent timely completion, reviewers should inform the editor as soon as possible to allow appropriate arrangements to be made.
Authors are responsible for reporting their research in an accurate, transparent, and honest manner. All data must be presented truthfully, and any form of data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts should provide sufficient methodological detail to enable other researchers to replicate the study and verify the reported findings.
Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been published previously and are not under consideration by other journals. Authors are required to properly acknowledge all sources used in their work, ensure appropriate citation of references, and clearly indicate any direct quotations or reproduced materials to avoid plagiarism.
Authors must not engage in multiple, redundant, or duplicate publication by submitting the same or substantially similar manuscripts to more than one journal simultaneously. Such practices are considered unethical and undermine the integrity of scholarly communication.
Authorship should accurately reflect individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission, ensuring collective responsibility for the content of the work.
To maintain transparency, authors are required to disclose all financial and non-financial conflicts of interest that could potentially influence the interpretation of their research findings. In the event that significant errors are identified after publication, authors must promptly notify the editor and cooperate fully in the correction, clarification, or retraction of the article to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
Joska: Jurnal ISORI Kampar recognizes scholarly contributions through clear author bylines, detailed author contribution statements, and appropriate acknowledgments for individuals who contribute to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship. These mechanisms are intended to ensure transparency and proper attribution of intellectual and technical contributions.
The corresponding author bears primary responsibility for all communication with the journal throughout the submission, review, and publication processes. In addition, the corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors meet authorship criteria, approve the final manuscript, and comply fully with the journal’s ethical standards and administrative requirements.
Complaints regarding editorial decisions, peer review, or journal policies must be submitted in writing via the official journal email. All complaints will be handled confidentially, fairly, and transparently, with acknowledgment provided within a reasonable timeframe.
All editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any relationships or interests that could be perceived as influencing their roles. Transparency is essential to maintaining trust in the publication process.
The journal encourages authors to make research data publicly available when feasible and ethical. Editors may request access to raw data for verification purposes, while respecting participant privacy.
Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and receive approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB). Ethical approval and informed consent statements must be included in the manuscript.
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of plagiarism will be rejected. Actions taken will be proportional to the severity of the misconduct.
