PEER REVIEW PROCESS

JOSKA: Jurnal ISORI Kampar applies a rigorous, transparent, and ethical peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic value of all published articles. The journal adheres to internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing and follows the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Editorial Screening

All manuscripts submitted through the online journal system undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial team. This screening assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, academic quality, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to ethical standards. A similarity check using plagiarism detection tools is conducted at this stage. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external peer review.

2. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who possess relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their academic competence, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest. JOSKA implements a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure objectivity and impartiality.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts objectively and confidentially based on predefined criteria, including originality, methodological rigor, theoretical and practical contribution, relevance to the field, clarity of presentation, and validity of data analysis and interpretation. Reviewers provide constructive, evidence-based feedback and make recommendations to accept, revise (minor or major), or reject the manuscript.

4. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief or the assigned handling editor reviews the peer reviewers’ reports and recommendations. Editorial decisions are based on the academic merit of the manuscript, reviewers’ comments, and the journal’s editorial and ethical policies. The final decision, together with anonymized reviewer feedback, is communicated to the corresponding author through the journal system.

5. Revision and Re-evaluation

When revisions are requested, authors are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response to each reviewer comment within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers or additional reviewers for further evaluation. This process may involve multiple rounds of review until the manuscript meets the journal’s publication standards.

6. Final Acceptance and Publication

Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes final editorial checks, copyediting, and layout editing before publication. The Editor-in-Chief grants final approval for publication. Accepted articles are published in the designated issue and made available in accordance with the journal’s open-access policy.

7. Ethical Oversight and Misconduct Handling

JOSKA takes all allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, redundant publication, and unethical research practices. Any ethical concerns identified during or after the peer review process are handled in accordance with COPE guidelines. Where necessary, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
