Abstract

Objectives: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan mahasiswa STOK Bina Guna sebagai voluntir profesional dalam penyelenggaraan PON XXI 2024 Sumatera Utara khususnya di cabang olahraga atletik, sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam manajemen event olahraga nasional dan mengembangkan soft skills yang relevan dengan dunia kerja.

Methods: Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui empat tahap yaitu: (1) rekrutmen dan seleksi mahasiswa voluntir, (2) pelatihan intensif meliputi manajemen event, protokol kesehatan olahraga, pertolongan pertama, dan hospitality service, (3) praktik lapangan dan simulasi, serta (4) penugasan aktif selama pelaksanaan PON XXI 2024. Total 60 mahasiswa STOK Bina Guna dari berbagai program studi terlibat dalam program ini selama periode Maret-September 2024.

Results: Program berhasil melatih dan menugaskan 60 mahasiswa sebagai voluntir dengan tingkat kepuasan panitia mencapai 92%. Terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada kompetensi mahasiswa meliputi: kemampuan manajemen event (peningkatan 78%), keterampilan komunikasi (85%), kerja tim (88%), dan pengetahuan protokol olahraga (82%). Mahasiswa berhasil mendukung kelancaran 15 nomor pertandingan atletik dengan zero incident dan mendapat apresiasi dari KONI Sumut.

Conclusion: Program pemberdayaan mahasiswa sebagai voluntir PON XXI 2024 terbukti efektif meningkatkan kompetensi praktis mahasiswa sekaligus mendukung kesuksesan penyelenggaraan event olahraga nasional. Model pemberdayaan ini dapat direplikasi untuk event serupa dengan penyesuaian konteks lokal.
